Since 2005, the Office of Training and Tertiary Education (OTTE) has distributed two million dollars of state funding each year to encourage the take-up of flexible learning in Victoria’s TAFE institutes.

TAFE institutes have been required to report on the uptake and use of e-learning against the Framework’s e-learning indicators related to teaching and training practices and e-learning delivery.

Understanding the nature, industry focus and size of flexible learning projects has informed conversations between OTTE and individual TAFE institutes about expanding flexible learning options, particularly in industries experiencing skills shortages.
